Say What You Mean

Dear Parents,

We found this delightful and helpful article and felt that we should pass it on for all of you to enjoy.

Saying what you mean is so important, especially when you are communicating with your child's teacher. You might often be intimidated, or struggling with which approach to use when communicating with school personnel, but speaking from your heart is usually the best choice and will help your child's teachers understand your child's needs more completely.

Please try the hints in the article and let us hear about your ideas on "say what you mean!"

"Say What You Mean!"

How often do you find yourself not saying exactly what you mean? Once in awhile? Once an hour? Fifty times a day? Whatever the number is for you, these seemingly harmless moments in our lives end up costing us dearly.

Here are a few examples...

Someone asks you for a favor, and you make an excuse to get out of it. You're upset with someone, yet you pretend everything is fine. You engage in gossip, even though your gut tells you it's not the best you can be.

If we kept tally of all the times we were 'out of integrity' each day, many of us would stop wondering why our lives aren't going exactly as we'd desire.

You see, when you get right down to it, your word is everything. What you say becomes how you act - ultimately, who you are - which in turn, becomes what shows up in your life!

So if you want to start changing your results, you must begin by honoring your word. In other words, be completely 'straight' in every conversation. Have the sentences which exit your mouth match the feelings inside your heart.

When you take this on (and I can assure you, it's a HUGE undertaking, even if it seems easy enough), you will create an immediate and ongoing sense of freedom and flow in your life. Things will materialize with less effort. And your whole life will roll along more smoothly.

It all goes back to this: You are the creator of what you manifest. And the whole process begins with your word. If you're word is out of alignment with your true feelings, you're sending mixed signals to the Universe. And accordingly, you'll receive mixed results.

I invite you to notice when you aren't speaking from your soul. See if you can catch yourself before your thoughts actually find enough air to form sounds. At every opportunity, ask yourself, "What would I say if I were really courageous?" Then, be courageous! It will change your life, this I guarantee.

Until next time...
